Cameron Bertrand is a leader, changemaker, mentor, author, and an activist. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Christopher Newport University while serving four years in US Army as a paralegal, Cameron went on to become a voice and a staple of communities in Hampton Roads. After personally experiencing gun violence, Cameron dedicated his life to helping those who were vulnerable to violence and injustice of all kinds.
At the time, Cameron was the a director of the Boys & Girls Clubs where he was the member of team creating and leading initiatives, programs, and events that built bridges within and between communities.
Cameron eventually founded his own organization and now serves as the CEO of Violence Intervention & Prevention VIP LLC.
In the community, Cameron goes above and beyond the call of duty, utilizing his Sociology and Criminology background to ensure that youth and adults have creative outlets, resources for character and career development, as well as guidance from capable and dedicated community leaders.
His passion for serving others has followed him as his career continues to grow. Mr. Bertrand is now a Licensed Qualified Mental Health Professional and he offers direct support, coaching, advice, and education services to children facing mental illness, behavioral issues, and emotional trauma. Cameron utilizes his many platforms as a motivational speaker, published author, and a community advocate to impact communities who may be currently suffering from, or at-risk of violence. Cameron is an example of how we all can take our pain, and turn it into our passion to help others.
